Two neighbouring rear side return extensions Wandsworth

Here we did two rear side return extensions for our two wonderful clients in Wandsworth.

On one side we extended out the back and installed lovely bifolding doors to the garden. This client requested a flat roof structure with large roof windows along the side return portion to maximise light into the kitchen. We also carried out a full house refurb and a loft conversion at this property. We added two bedrooms and a bathroom and extended the ground floor to create an open plan kitchen and diner.

Next door, we extended to the rear with bifolding doors to the garden, but our client requested a pitched roof along the side return in order to have a fully glazed roof along this side, which brings in acres of light into the new extended space and provides a lovely feature to the whole kitchen. The rear of this property is at a lower level to the front and in creating the new extension we were able to add in a utility and storage at the junction between the new extension and the original building.

In terms of the finishings, one client decided to keep it modern and sleek and the other opted for a more mix of modern and traditional. This was largely achieved through exposed brick work walls and beautiful herring bone brick work for the flooring. We have carried out 4 rear and side return extensions on this street and each one is slightly different to the other. The house types are the same – Victorian Terraced but each client brings their own unique style to the property. In all cases, we have completely refurbished the ground floor ensuring to maintain the Victorian character of the property whilst modernising and making the ground floor flow well for the owners lifestyle.
