Case Study

Side return extension Earlsfield

We added a lovely side return extension to a property in Earlsfield. This is an end of terrace Victorian house which required a reconfiguration of the ground floor space and additional space for a dining area and new kitchen. The new space added allowed us to reconfigure the old dining room to become a utility room and downstairs WC and then create a much larger kitchen and dining space. We also renovated the sitting room maintaining some of the old Victorian features such as ceiling roses and bay window with traditional shutters. The side return extension features three large roof windows drawing plenty of light into the dining and kitchen space. To the rear, we added large bifold doors to the full width of the property (from party wall to party wall). The kitchen has been transformed to a much larger space with an island unit at its heart, which not only provides a beautiful focal point but also a very sociable space for both the family and friends to gather. Furthermore, with the addition of the utility we were able to create a pantry style wall in the kitchen that has room for an integrated American style fridge freezer. Overall, we think this has transformed this Victorian terraced property in Earlsfield and has the bonus of adding significant value to the property. We have since been back to this property to add a loft conversion.
