Kitchen Extension - Lambeth

Creative Spaces transformed a compact kitchen into to a bright and spacious open plan kitchen with diner. This Victorian Terraced property in South London was completely transformed with a side return extension. We also converted the loft in this property with an l-shaped dormer giving two additional bedrooms and a large shower room.

The ground floor of the house had a traditional Victorian layout with a large sitting room to the front of the house, a dining room to the rear that led to a separate kitchen with a side passage leading to the rear garden. Out client needed to change to layout to enlarge the kitchen and create an open plan space that worked better for their family to work and live in. They desired a space that allows them to move freely and be able to spend quality family time with the feeling of being connected to the garden.

To transform our client’s vision into reality, we merged the previously separated kitchen with the dining area and extended the kitchen that took over the side passage completely with a side return extension. We also extended out to the rear and created a wall of glass with large sliding doors. This has given the kitchen its space and opened it for a spacious kitchen workspace and diner.

The kitchen now has a large wall unit with ample storage space that is both functional and stylish, a new huge kitchen island stands in the middle of the space that increased the workspace and acts as a social hub for the kitchen. The dining area is on the other side of the kitchen island that is illuminated by the natural light entering the area by a sliding glass door. This sliding door extends the kitchen to the garden whenever desired. Roof lights play a major role in brightening up the kitchen by letting natural light enter all over the new kitchen and diner illuminating all corners.

By this extension project, we were able to create an open plan kitchen and dinner with ample of space and seamless navigation to the garden. This transformation cost around £83k and took us 15 weeks to deliver.
