Rear andSide Return Extension - Wandsworth

We carried out a full refurbishment and rear extension at this property in Hackney. We also converted a loft into a master suite with ensuite, redesigned the first floor to add a bedroom, and added a large kitchen extension to the rear and created a spacious lounge area. We reconfigured the ground floor to create a flow from the front of the property where the sitting room is located, through a new dining area to the rear of the house where a large open plan kitchen leads to a large patio and garden. The perfect entertaining space!

For the kitchen, our clients wanted to extend all the way to the side with a side return extension in order to maximise the space in the kitchen. This space needed to be both functional with a large kitchen area and social with a nice relaxing space leading to the patio. The original layout featured two reception rooms and a separate access for kitchen. The idea was to redesign the entire floor by making a seamless movement from the front of the house to the rear. To execute that, we merged the two reception rooms transforming it into a huge room that now included the dining area. The large kitchen extension features large cabinets for storage and a large workspace with the island unit all of which are illuminated by the large roof windows. The open plan layout coupled with the large roof windows and glazing makes the area feel spacious and bright with natural light and air flow throughout floor. The extension now allows a view of the garden through a full height glass window and French doors, creating a bright and airy environment perfect for modern living.

This whole project cost was around £190k and took 15 weeks to complete an airy and elegant, easy-to-navigate ground floor and functional upper floors.
