Case Studies
Rear extension Battersea
We designed and built a rear extension to a mid-terraced house in Battersea for our client. This property is located in the heart of Battersea, with its SW11 postcode affording our client to all of the wonderful amenities that Battersea has to offer. This house is typical of the housing stock of Battersea, Victorian terraced house. We carried out a 3m rear extension which was fully glazed to the rear and opened directly to the existing property creating a large plan living and dining space between the sitting room and new kitchen extension. We added large glass doors partitioning the new extension space from the existing sitting room so as to maximise light throughout but also to add an element of privacy and noise reduction. Our highly skilled team built a pitched roof extension with Velux windows to the left and right flooding the workspaces of the kitchen and the dining area with light. To the rear, the client wanted us to add a seating area with bifold windows and a large triangular window above to maximise the light and views out to the garden. To take advantage of the beautiful summer evenings in this south facing garden, we installed a lovely patio with direct access to the extension via large bifold doors the full width of the property. The new kitchen was installed along one side with a large island in the centre in order to create more storage space. The new extension was integrated with the existing property, which was also renovated creating a seamless transition from the traditional Victorian style of the rest of the property through to the modern extension.
