Case Study

Rear extension Mitchem

For this rear extension in Mitchem, we completely reconfigured the downstairs of this 1930s built terraced property. The existing property consisted of a reception room to the front of the property with a small dark hallway to the side that led to a kitchen and diner to the rear of the property. One of the issues for our client was that there was only one bathroom in the whole house to cater for 4 people and all of the downstairs spaces were cramped, separated and lacked storage. In order to change this and achieve an additional WC, more storage and a better flow on the ground floor, we opened up the back of the house and added a 3m extension to the rear of the terraced property. This allowed us to totally reconfigure the ground floor for our clients and add a large kitchen diner and to the front of the property, combine the old kitchen and sitting room to make a larger space and add a WC, storage cupboards and a small utility room. This created a much better flow in the property from front to back for our clients and added that much needed WC and storage downstairs. We come across this scenario in the majority of properties that we extend, where there is a need for storage space and a WC on the ground floor. We create more space time and again for our clients throughout London and in this case for our clients in Mitchem.
