Side return extension Balham
This side return extension in Balham was completed in conjunction with a full refurbishment of the property and a loft conversion. On this Victorian property we infilled the rear side expanding the kitchen to create a large living, dining and lounge area. We flooded the space with light from two large Velux roof windows, a Crittall style window in the kitchen and large Crittall style bifolding doors that lead directly out the garden space. This has transformed the downstairs of the house to incorporate functionality and social space and makes a lovely addition to the house. For this project we worked alongside an external architect who designed the project. We worked closely with the architect and the client to ensure that the design worked well in practicality and looked fantastic when finished. Wrap around extension Balham
We completed a wraparound extension in Balham for our clients in a Victorian Terraced house. They wanted to reconfigure the downstairs and add a rear extension in order to make a larger kitchen, dining and seating space with good access to the garden space. We extended out the side to the party wall with the next door neighbour and pushed out the rear of the house with an extension. In order to add lots of light, we added roof lights to the side return portion of the extension and then a large oriel window to the rear with a bench seating that doubles as additional storage. The rear extension allows for dining space and a seating area with views and access to the garden. Rather than added bifolding doors to the rear, our clients here opted for one large glass door (floor to ceiling) acting as both a large window and an opening access to the garden. We think they have created a lovely and homely space for their family.
