Rear andSide Return Extension - Stoke Newington
The team at Creative Spaces worked with the clients here to design a rear and side return extension to their Victorian Terraced house in Stoke Newington. The property is located on a quite residential street in this trendy neighbourhood of London. This was a typical Victorian terraced house with the kitchen jutting out from the back of the house. The original ground floor space was divided into a long narrow entrance hall with a staircase and door to the living room at the front of the property. This lead to a dining room at the back which then led onto the dark and small kitchen. Our clients wanted to reconfigure the downstairs space to add plenty of light and add a wc on the ground floor and a large, bright and spacious kitchen diner to the rear of the house.
We designed a reconfiguration of the downstairs layout by opening up the old between the dining room and sitting room creating a relaxing sitting room which still retained some of the beautiful Victorian features including a beautiful bay window which floods the space with light. We also installed storage on either side of the chimney. The old dining room has been converted into a multifunctional room both for the children to play, storage and office space. This room opens out to the new kitchen extension, which is bright, light and airy. The large kitchen diner has a full wall of bifold windows to the rear and roof windows in the side return. This project took 12 weeks to complete and cost in the region of £150k. Here’s what our clients had to say about us.
...this is what our client had to say:
"We recently used Creative Spaces for our side return kitchen extension and renovation to the ground floor in our Victorian terrace after being recommended them by a friend. We were provided a very clear breakdown of the costs in our quote, and preparing for the building work (drawings, planning, party well etc) was all very straightforward. Artur and his team, who were the builders working on our house, were great and we are very happy with the quality of the building work and the standard of finish.
On the whole, communication was good and we found the building team to be respectful and responsive to any questions or concerns. We lived in during the building work, which although difficult in terms of stress levels for us, meant that we could oversee the work happening every day."
