Side return extension Clapham

Here we did a modern flat roof infill and rear extension. We extended out the back and installed lovely bifolding doors to the garden. This client requested a flat roof structure with large roof windows along the side return portion to maximise light into the kitchen. We also carried out a full house refurb and a loft conversion at this property. We added two bedrooms and a bathroom and extended the ground floor to create an open plan kitchen and diner.

In terms of the finishings, one client decided to mix modern and industrial styles. This was largely achieved through exposed brick work walls and crittel style bifolding doors to the rear. By extending the living area and reconfiguring the existing space, we added a large utility room and downstairs toilet for our clients. A notable feature is in the sitting room where we added a window to the wall between the hallway and sitting room. This has had the effect of making the hallway bright with a sense of being larger than it actually is and we think it’s a great addition to the space. We have carried out 4 rear and side return extensions on this street and each one is slightly different to the other. The house types are the same – Victorian Terraced but each client brings their own unique style to the property. Rear extension Clapham

We added a rear extension to a Georgian Townhouse property for our client in Clapham. Alongside the extension we completely refurbished the house and added a large loft conversion too. Our client wanted a large open plan kitchen diner and entertaining space with open access to the patio again for a social space. On this project, we worked with a client appointed architect. It was important for us to maintain some of the traditional features of the property but to also modernise it with the addition of underfloor heating and upgrading electrics throughout. For the extension we added a rear addition with a large kitchen with a large island that houses a hob featuring an inbuilt extractor. The kitchen space has plenty of natural light flooding the space with a large crittel style window over the sink and worktop area. To the rear of the space is a large dining area with plenty of space for a large dining table that seats 6 – 8 people. The large bifolding crittel style doors provide great access to the patio to the rear with a large seating space for relaxing and entertaining.
