Rear andSide Return KitchenExtension - Wandsworth
Our team at Creative Spaces worked with the client to design a rear and side return kitchen extension in a Victorian House in Wandsworth. This property was a typically laid out Victorian house with a kitchen at the back of the house with a garden to the rear and a side passageway. The clients here wanted to extend the house to the side and further back into the garden in order to gain a bigger kitchen and diner and reconfigure the existing space on the ground floor in the house.
In order to extend the kitchen, we built out into the side passageway to the neighbouring party wall and pushed out the rear of the house to create a beautiful fully glazed wall. In the roof of the side return we added roof lights, which floods the space with natural light. The kitchen was renovated by removing the chimney breast and replaced with a L shaped platform with an island table to gain extra working and storage space. Where the side return was build, we added a new dining area under the roof lights. To extend the kitchen to the backyard, bi-fold doors were added at the back that provided the kitchen with more natural lights and fresh air making the new kitchen brighter and more spacious. Our client wanted to add a WC between the reception and kitchen area to add more accessibility and functionality to their ground floor.
This project took about 12 weeks to complete with a total cost of £100k. A few years after completing the extension, our clients asked us back to complete a mansard loft conversion which has given them an extra bedroom and bathroom.
...this is what our client had to say:
"Creative Spaces were fantastic - absolutely loved their work and we’ve already recommended them to our friends! The quality was great and they were very neat and tidy which is always a plus! Would 100% use them again if we were to do another extension."
