Mansard Loft Conversion - Lambeth
The three-bedroom, one-bathroom Victorian house felt cramped and lacked the space necessary for this expanding family. In order to create more bedrooms and an additional bathroom for our clients, Creative Spaces designed and built a large Mansard loft conversion. Our client approached us with this vision to revamp their house in Lambeth to continue enjoying the vibrant culture of the area. As a result, we gave their Victorian house a new look with a Mansard loft conversion that not only solved the problem of space but also gave the extra headspace to the loft for a free and easy movement in the rooms.
For the loft transformation, we divided the loft space into two big bedrooms, a shower room and extra built-in closet at the top of the landing. By fitted glass window and roof light, the well-lit staircase enters the floor and faces three doors, two-bedroom doors to the left and one shower room door at front. This new layout increased the number of bedrooms in this house from three to five, creating a large home for our clients. To make it better, we addressed the issue of storage in depth and added a built-in closet to the bedroom with shelves on the side to battle the lack of storage in the bedroom. To make the rooms more relaxing and brighter, the two big mansard windows installed in the front room and two big windows to the rear bedroom as well. This created an airy and relaxed atmosphere, perfect for spend some time while unwinding. The shower room is spacious and functional and matches the aesthetic of the new floor. In this way, we were able to maximise the use of the loft space, with the bonus of increasing the value of our client’s house.
This Mansard loft conversion took us 8 weeks to complete and to add the extra space and functionality to our client’s Victorian house cost around £82k.
