Dormer Loft Conversion - Stoke Newington
The client wanted to convert the loft with a dormer loft conversion in Stoke Newington. We designed a large dormer loft conversion to include a new additional bedroom and large family bathroom with a bath and separate shower. According to research carried out by Nationwide a loft conversion that expands the floor space of a property can increase its value by up to 25%.
Here, we added a large bedroom with a large window to the rear of the property allowing magnificent views over the city. The bedroom is spacious and bright with a lot of space to walk around. To the front, we installed a large Velux window and a Velux window in the bathroom which not only helps with efficient ventilation but also provided an influx of natural light. The window brightens up the entire room, making it more relaxing. For the purpose of extra storage in the room and utilising the loft space appropriately, we installed closets in the eaves. Instead of adding carpet, our clients opted for painted floorboards. In building this floor structure we ensured that we insulated sufficiently for both sound and heat retention. This space is a blank canvas for our clients to put their own stamp on.
The large bathroom consists of a bathtub and also an enclosed shower utilising the loft space to its maximum. The Velux window is also incorporated here to allow light to enter the space and to help with ventilation. The stairs to the loft are completely illuminated by natural light from a large window and a big roof light. This allowed the staircase to be well-lit and sustainable at the same time. This loft conversion took us 8 weeks to complete at the cost of £52k and was part of a full house refurbishment and ground floor extension.
