Adding Private Terrace to Dormer Loft Conversion - Fulham

This beautiful Victorian terraced house in Hammersmith was fully refurbished and an L-shaped dormer loft conversion added, which also features an expansive private roof terrace. Our client’s vision was to add more bedrooms and a large bathroom and to create a private outdoor space to enjoy the urban views of London.

Creative Spaces team collaborated to bring together a light filled master suite with bathroom and added a private terrace boosting both liveability and long-term value of the house. We also added privacy glass to the terrace balustrade and a charred wood cladding to the exterior of the dormer loft.

The new bedroom, which incorporates a dedicated dressing area and eaves storage running across the back wall maximises the storage and the added space. The bedroom is also filled with natural light from all sides by well-fitted Velux windows that not only allow natural light in but also provide efficient ventilation, contributing to the comfort factor. Both the stairwell and the bathroom benefit from roof lights, flooding the spaces with natural light.

Apart from a comfortable and well-equipped bedroom, the loft also has a big shower room, making it a complete haven. The spacious shower closet complemented by a huge rooflight that illuminates the entire space.

The staircase to the loft opens to the bedroom and the shower room, and from there, further gives access to the new private terrace. As self-descriptive as it is, the terrace is one of the best features of this loft conversion providing that much coveted private out door space in the city. With the high glass railing, this open space is as private as the indoors.

With this transformation to the property in Hammersmith, the loft conversion has fulfilled our client’s vision of comfort both indoor and outdoor. This new loft cost estimated to £130k.
